Professor Robert J. Edelmann

RESEARCH AND TEACHING

Professor Edelmann’s main research interests are:

  • Social anxiety/social phobia
  • Anxiety disorders/phobias
  • Psychological aspects of chronic pain
  • Post traumatic stress disorder
  • Stress and bullying at work
  • Psychological aspects of infertility and the reproductive technologies

He has over 150 publications including 91 articles in refereed academic journals  as well as numerous book chapters and 6 books.

Professor Edelmann has held academic appointments at the University of Sheffield (1984-1986), University of Surrey (1986-1998) and the University of Roehampton (1998-1999). From 1999 until 2007 he held an Honorary Chair at the University of Roehampton; From 2007 until 2016 he was part-time (0.2) Professor of Forensic and Clinical Psychology at the University of Roehampton where he is currently Emeritus Professor of Forensic and Clinical Psychology directing a PsychD in Forensic Psychology  (http://www.roehampton.ac.uk/staff/robertedelmann).

During his academic career Professor Edelmann has taught and supervised at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.  He has also given guest lectures at a number of venues including conferences for the legal profession.
