Professor Robert J. Edelmann

THERAPY 

Professor Edelmann completed his training as a Clinical Psychologist at the Institute of Psychiatry, London in 1984.  He has since specialised in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for anxiety disorders including social phobia and post traumatic stress disorder.  He is a Patron of Anxiety UK (http://www.anxietyuk.org.uk/).  He see clients privately, generally referred by Solicitors or insurance companies or funded by health insurers or from therapy agencies.

He is the author of Coping with Blushing published by Sheldon Press (http://www.sheldonpress.com/books/0859699196.html) and Anxiety, Theory, Research and Practice in Clinical and Health Psychology published by John Wiley & Sons.  He has held honorary consultant psychologist appointments with Brookwood Hospital, Surrey and the Pain Clinic and Department of Gynaecology at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.  He has assessed and counselled couples seeking infertility treatments.

In addition, since 1987, he has been in partnership with Powell Campbell Edelmann (PCE) providing services by contract to institutional bodies that have included a number of specialist uniformed professional groups and forensic analysts.  All PCE’s current contract work relates to assessing and counselling those entering or involved in high stress or high demand environments.
